We are celebrating Pam’s 60th birthday, our 25th wedding anniversary and all of the reasons life gives us to gather with family and friends. We are delighted that those who can make it will be here. We understand that some will not be able to attend due to the remote location and the party falls on the same weekend as Easter.

The Midland Railroad Hotel, Wilson, KS
The historic Midland Railroad Hotel is located 15 miles from the Farm (20 minute drive) in the tiny town of Wilson, KS (population 836). The community promotes itself as the "Czech Capital of Kansas" due to the role of Czech immigrant settlers in its early history. **Book your room over the phone at the Midland Railroad Hotel and let them know you are with the Toman party.
Homewood Suites Hotel, Salina, KS
If you prefer larger rooms in a more urban setting, we recommend the Homewood Suites Hotel by Hilton in downtown Salina, KS. The Homewood Suites Hotel is located 39 miles from the farm (49 minute drive). We go to Salina when we “go to town” for shopping, etc.
Points of Interest
All fingers and toes are crossed that we will have pleasant weather on March 29 and 30, so we can enjoy the outdoors. We hope you will linger on our porch and enjoy farm life with us while you are in the area. Walks on the farm are refreshing and nice. If you want to explore beyond the farm:
Ellsworth: The town of Ellsworth, KS has the Ellsworth County Historical Society, a few shops and a couple of country restaurants.
I recommend going by the Ellsworth Volunteer Fire Dept. to view the 9/11 Memorial. It is quite impressive!
Wilson: The town of Wilson has the Wilson Heritage Museum and the Made From Scratch Cafe. Kansas Originals is a nonprofit promoting crafts made in Kansas off I-70 in Wilson.
You may want to drive over to Mushroom Rock State Park or Wilson State Park on Lake Wilson.
Things to Consider
Weather: Weather on the plains is unpredictable. High winds happen. Freezing temps happen. Rain happens. Not going to mention any other weather systems that happen…
Roads: The farm is located on an unpaved country road. The road from Wilson to the farm is mostly unpaved. Plan accordingly.
Pets: Please do not bring pets to the party. We love pets, but we cannot accommodate them this time.

United Airlines operated by SkyWest has limited flights to Salina.
The Salina Regional Airport is 37 miles from our farm (47 minute drive).
